I had found a web page at one time to get the interior door panel off. If you look around you may be able to find it.
As for your button....maybe there's a connection problem? Take a flat screwdriver and insert it along the side of the button panel about 1/2 way back on the side closest to the interior. (May be on the side closest to the door) It should pop right off. You can check the connections then.
Unfortunately a lot of cars have problems with the underpowered window motors. If you take it to a dealer it's around $300 to replace. It's difficult to do yourself as it's very hard to see back there.

Found the link!!
Check here!! Look in the "How To" Menu under replacing window motor. Shows you how to take apart the door panel....

Push the drivers side window button down....to make the window go down. If you hear a click then your window motor is broke...if you dont hear a click noise, then your switch is shot. Go to deaer...it cost no more than 30 bucks. That noise sounds like it should be coming from beloow the steering wheel in the dash.
