question about MAF sensor

Will the granatelli MAF sensor for an LS1 hook up to the LT1 harness. I know people use the ZO6 sensor so it should work???

Re: question about MAF sensor

The ZO6 sensor requires an adapter harness. You also do not want a Granattelli even if it was made for an LT1 car. What a MAF has to do is send accurate information to the pcm which the pcm then needs to be able to ACCURATELY interperate that info, and do all this without impeeding airflow, the stock MAF fits that bill perfectly. The Granatelli has unknown calibrations even when used with the right car, and the LSX cars use a higher frequency range for the MAF/pcm communications so even if the LSX MAF was freer flowing you would max out the ability of the MAF and pcm to communicate long before you got to the point of needing more flow.

The Granatelli can sometimes result in some power gain on a stock car by causing it to run leaner than the pcm would otherwise command once combined with CAI and exhaust mods it can turn into too lean fast. PCM reprogramming on the otherhand can optomize AFR at all points and tweak timing and many other variables for a fraction the cost of the g-maf, since it optomizes fueling, spark and other thing no itelligent argument can be made that it is better to spend $300 on a MAF than $50 on tuning when the tuning will get you the gains the MAF MIGHT have and so much more.

does the granattelli require a harness as well? I got a GREAT price on it!
