Question on wheels

Alright, I know that the camaro "salad shooter" wheels are 16x8. My friend told me that the 5 spoke wheels on lt1 trans ams are only 16x7.5 and the "swirling" type wheels on firebirds are 16x7. I have a 94 formula. Why would they put smaller wheels on TAs, if this is true of course?

The 16" 5-spoke wheels on Firebird/Trans Am are 16x8 and I'm 99% sure the swirl wheels are 16x8 also. (245-50ZR16)

The 17" 5-spoke wheels (WS6) are 17x9 (275-45ZR17)

Wink

I thought they were 16x8 too. I have another friend with a 95 z28 and salad shooters and a mom with a 97 z28. The wheels look the same size to me, but I figured maybe I just couldn't tell.
My friends has a lt1 caprice, what does he know about f-bodies.
