Questions about Competition Motorsports!

How many of you guys have dealt with these people? Im thinking about going with one of there XE cam kits. It seems to be a really good deal. Have any of you guys bought these kits from them? The guy told me they come with the CC pro mag 1.6 rockers and springs that support .600 lift. Does anyone know about the quality of these springs? Thanks alot!

If You meant COMBINATION motorsports then yes...I have installed these springs on my friends 97Z. He is currently running a 224/236 cam with 1.5 RR and his lift is .502/.521. He spins the motor all the way to 6300rpms with no problems at all. Seth at Combination Motorsports who is great to deal with, told us these springs will handle upto .600 lift easy. These springs also require zero machining on the heads to make them fit. If I knew that these springs were on the market when we did my motor, I would have gotten them too. I am currently using the hotcam springs with my cc305 cam and 1.5 rockers. The Lt1 hotcam springs can handle upto .525 lift and my cam is rated at .510/.510 lift with 1.5 Rockers. I would highly recommend doing buisness with Combination Motorsports and also getting their springs.

Hope that helps.
Claude

Seth is the only gentleman that I have dealt with, he seems to have "real world" experience in dealing with installs, valve spring set ups, cylinder head machining, cam selection, etc and that means ALOT. It makes it MUCH easier than talking to someone that just knows catalogs with NO "hands on" experience.

They are easy to deal with, always call back, very knowledgable and the prices are VERY good.

What more could you ask for?

I agree with everything everyone said about Seth and Combination Motorsports. I'll be even happier once I get a chance to put my new cam kit in the car. I just got it delivered yesterday.

Yeah for a while I was beginning to think the the GM Hot Cam kit was the only kit out there for that kinda money. Then someone directed me over to Combination Motorsports and I was kinda iffy about the whole thing when I seen that they're website wasnt up yet. So I called the guys there and got some prices from them and I couldtn believe my ears. You can get any XE grind cam in a kit for about $100 more than the hotcam. People on here always talking about getting the hotcam because of budgeting. There is no reason to use that as an excuse anymore with a business like Combination Motorsports around. Thanks guys for all the responses. I will be ordering my cam kit it about 2-3 weeks from those guys.

Good things to hear.

I've got a question someone might be able to answer:

I need:

Hydro Roller Camshaft
Roller Rockers
Hydro Roller Lifters
Valve Springs
Locks
Retainers

Anyone know if they have some kind of kit/combo with that stuff and what it goes for? I *may* need this too:

Shims? (I may be going w/ a .5" longer valve)
Pushrods?

I don't think they have a "combo" per se' w/ all those parts you listed.. However, they do carry their own line of valvesprings, locks, retainers and pushrods which will save you some coin. In addition, they have a special this month on comp R lifters.

As far as valves go... I'm pretty sure you mean +.050 right, and not .5 ~ 1/2 inch? Like some ferreas or something?

Yeah in the email he said 1/2". I was lookin for some 2.00/1.56 valves and he offered me a set of Ferrea's.

I have a complete set of Ferrea 6000 series competition 2.00/1.56 valves that I'm trying to sell. They already have a competition multi-angle valve job and are backcut by Total Engine Airflow. They are .50 longer than stock.
The part numbers are F6165 on the Intake and F6161 on the Exhaust. Here's a link to the Ferrea website if you want any more information.

EDIT: I'm sorry, I looked them up again, looks like .050.
12º Super Flo. Stk/+.050
