Do all dual springs require machining?

I guess it depends on what diameter you are going to use. You can run Crane 10308 dual spring kit without machining the head.

Well I'm about to install an XE 230/236 cam and am looking into 1.7 rr's...would those springs work?

What kind of lift numbers are you talking about with the 1.7 roller rockers? The Crane 10308's are good for .600 lift.
