Quick question. Please look...

Ok... So I had the infamous intake manifold leak so i pulled the intake and replaced the gasket and did the egr blockoff and so on.. put everything all back together, connected everything and waited a few days for the permatex to set.. i started it up a little bit ago and the fans came on right away. any reason this should be happening? i thought it might have been my manual fan switch, but i turned the car off and tested the switch and it was working fine. any idea why my fans would do this? is it just because it's been parked for 5 months? i appreciate your input.

Is your SES on? If so, the fans will be, too.

For certain DTCs the fans will kick on automatically.

What year car? If you deleted the EGR solenoid, it'll set a code, which will trigger the light and fans. You need to pop a resistor in place of the solenoid. That is, if you have a 94-95. OBDII cars are different.
