raidiator question?

raidiator question?

i have a small amount of steam coming up from my passenger side of the radiator near the battery.

the ironic part is nothing is leaking on the ground or on the side of the radiator. is it a little hole and should i have to worry about it?

when i feel down there, i get very very very little amount of rad fluid on my fingers, but yet again nothing is leaking onto the ground or hoses.

will the radiator fix stuff work on it and will it cause me any problems? thanx for any suggestions.

I would take it to a raidiator shop and see if they can fix it. If you try that stop leak stuff it might clog up your system. To me its not worth it. I dont like putting a bandaid on problems like that.

I tried the stop-leak crap last week, I had a decent leak so it was worth a shot. It worked in stopping the leak, but it also clogged the whole bottom half of my radiator. It has done the same thing for the radiator on my other car when I tried it ~3 years ago, so yeah, take it to a radiator shop or just go ahead and get another.

If you have a leak, fix it before it becomes a bigger leak. Why take a chance with overheating your engine and maybe causing other damage? Blown head gaskets are an expensive repair if you can't do it yourself.

If you take your radiator to a shop, they can find a leak very quickly. The plastic side tanks are replaceable. Though be aware that a complete new radiator is only ~$200 wholesale.

YYeah, what he said...i paid $75 for a used radiator, but it was a copper/tin one instead of the stock plastic one so it was well worth it to me

thanks for ur info. i know a new costs only 200. i want to spend that 200 elsewhere on my car(drag radials) , but i know the car has to run in order for me to use the drag radials.

i probably will take a closer look at it and then take it to a radiator shop.
