ran 12.9 but trapping 112.95mph!
My current 60' time best is a 2.2 (i have lowering springs) but I am planning on swapping over to either v6 or drag springs and tossing the lowering springs. If i can get my 60' down to a solid 2.0 or 1.9 what do you guys think I will run. I mean, my car has the power, i am trapping almost at 113mph, i just am having issues biting. I run 245/50/16 nitto drags also. Thanks for any replies

I cut low 1.6s on stock suspension with lowering springs. M/T ET radials on stock wheels at 16 psi do the trick.
If you cut a 1.8, you'd see around a half second improvement in your times.

OK this is an easy one. If you want to drive to the track and run low 12's on the same tires then listen up. Order a pair of Mickey Thompson ET Streets size 26X11.50-16LT and part number 3793 from Summit or your favorite vendor. Other considerations:
1. 25-30 PSI on the street and 12-15 PSI at the track. Don't go lower.
2. Eibach drag launch springs and drag shocks will help. Typically a tight rear setting and loose front works best.
3. If yours is a 6-speed car the stock rear may give out with a high RPM clutch dump.
BTW check out my ET and Trap speed. You car might just have an 11 in it if you can get all that power to the ground.

I really want to get those low 12's or maybe an 11, but i am still running a stock 10-bolt. I am getting 4.10's and a spec stage 3 in march, so i know i am gonna be stressing my 10-bolt enough as it is. I dont know if i wanna go with some mickeys cuz i am pretty certain i am gonna snap that baby in half. I am willing to have a slower time and run my nitto's and hopefully keep my 10-bolt alive a little bit longer. I am hoping she will survive ~50 or so runs through this summer. what do u guys think??

I agree. I've seen way too many folks get 410's, a new clutch, and a new set of stickies. Then go to the track and break the rear on the first burnout before they even get a run down the track. Keep the rear end fund readily available.

Re: ran 12.9 but trapping 112.95mph!
I have several low 1.8 passes on my 4.10'd 10 bolt with stickies and a 6 spd.
I dump it at 3500rpm and floor it.
I saw a guy at the track with a '95 T/A that looked pretty stock on the outside and it was 2900lbs with driver. He had an old school carbed 350 in it though.
Check sig for my times.

Re: ran 12.9 but trapping 112.95mph!
ohh believe me, i have full intentions of picking up a 12-bolt but it wont be until later this summer/next winter project. I've heard of a lot of people running 11's and such on a stock 10-bolt. I'm prolly just going to play russian roulette, throw some stickies on and go to town. Clutch, 4.10's and stickies and I will getting my 12.4's or better. It just sucks that the rear ends are so hit or miss. Well, I'll let you guys know how i do this summer. thanks for the input

Quick96Z - You've definately got some bottom 12's in there if you can hook it up and drop a few pounds. The rule of thumb is every .1 you drop off your 60', gains you approx. 1.5 on the big end. Next time you visit the track, take out EVERYTHING that isn't necessary. Losing pounds = gaining HP.

Re: ran 12.9 but trapping 112.95mph!
In an almost full weight car I have very close trap times and cutting 1.7 60's ran 12.05@113.29mph. I am also at about the exact same power, but a little more torque and an A4. I was also running on 17" Nitto drag radials.

Congrats!
I suggest you take a look at this thread which i made awhile ago before i ever dynoed or got some good runs in. Fits your biill pretty well.
