re-adjusting rr's for clicking

I finally finished the rr's yesterday (thanks to all the help on here) and after i started it up it ran fine. After the second time i started it up, it started to have a little tap, and then it got worse, so I turned the car off and told myself I would fix it today. Im about to re-adjust them, my main question is:

once I adjust the individual rr's, do I lock them in (w/ the allen wrench) as soon as they are adjusted? what I did the first time when I look back seems stupid, I adjusted them, then when I was done I locked them all in place. This hopefully is where I messed up. I was using http://csce.uark.edu/~jgbertr/rb/4th...#adjust_valves that site, and I will try the second method this time, instead of the first because w/ the second I can do 1 cylinder at a time isntead of a bunch of different intakes/exhausts etc.

any advice is appreciated, thanks for listening!

Try this, adjust them to zero, 1/4 turn, lock the allen bolt, then turn the whole polylock another 1/8th turn with an openend and the allenwrench keeping them oriented together. Or adjust that method to whatever past zero lash your trying for. Point is just the allenwrench doesn't get them quite tight enough, give it another little turn to really lock it down.

good luck

ok, before I touch my car Ill make sure im exactly right this time.
I start on cylinder 1, turn the crank until the exhaust starts to open (goes all the way closed, and stays there?) and adjust the intake; and by adjust what exactly do I do right then? I turn it down to zero lash, go an extra 1/2 turn, and then tighten the lock? after that, I turn crank until intake starts to open and adjust the exhaust.

then move on 90deg and do it in this order 1-8-4-3,6-5-8-2

anyone see any mistakes? I will follow this to the word, thanks a bunch!
