Re-occuring Code 48, why??

Re-occuring Code 48, why??
Ever since we re installed the motor, I have been getting a code 48 which is MAF system failure. We reset the code and it will come back every once in a while. Its not an everyday thing, but it will come back. Do I need a different MAF for the car, or is there somethign else wrong. Thanks
