Angry Ready to buy a Ford

Ok here are the symptoms.....Takes a few extra seconds of cranking to start. Idles decent when cold. Stumbles like running out of gas at part throttle. WOT seems like a lack of power but doesnt stumble. When warm at idle the rpms sometimes jump around anywhere from 500-2500. I've replaced the plugs, wires, FPR, Fuel Pump, Fuel Filter, ICM, Coil. I dont know where to go next except maybe the opti. Had the scanner on but there are no codes. Data seems normal - let me know what other information will help. Also it smells flooded alot of the time. I'm at the point were I can't drive it anymore and I'm sick of throwing parts at it. I will praise anyone that can help me figure this out. Thanks awhile Nathan

Is there a way I can test it to be sure before I buy a new one? Maybe I'll look into the Delteq system

There is a simple test from shoebox website:

http://shbox.com/1/4th_gen_tech2.html#opti_test

but I am somehow sure you will pass this test. How old is your opti? Check MAP and MAF sensors - both can cause exessively rich condition. How is your O2's?

I can unplug the MAF and run it SD mode...it still does the same thing. The o2s are fine.....jumping around on the scanner. I think the opti is original and the cars got 130k so its probably time for that soon anyway. Didnt check the map sensor. I'll do the test on the opti and see. I'm not missing anything obvious am I?? Thanks again Nathan

Actually I already do own a ford. It's the piece that I'm stuck driving right now. The vehicle that you just put gas in and drive. The old rusty 87 bronco that makes so much noise my friends dont wanna ride in it . Bad U-joints, exhaust leaks, noisy brakes...I think the bodies held on by gravity....I want my car back.

I'd put money on the fact that your opti is either shot, or on its way to being shot. I got less than 70k out of my original opti, so with 130k on the clock It makes sense it would slowly be starting to crap out now. Also, i experienced alot of the same symptoms as you when mine went out. It sucks, but you'll have your car back soon enough!
