Rebuilding my 385 LT1...
Long story made short. I have to reassemble my '97s engine. Got it back in pieces from the shop and am missing some parts. It is a LT1 bored .040 over, stroked, aluminum pistons, and a procharger.
First line of business: Where do I go to figure out what cam to go with?
2: High pressure oil pump? High volume? I have a stock pan... S/C uses engines oil too...
3: Head gaskets: MLS I assume... Any better or worse than any others?
Also, I have an ACCEL computer in it, so tuning should be a little easier...Maybe? lol

The cam choice will reflect what your intended purpose of the car will be. What are you planning?
And despite the boost I would still go with a standard volume/high pressure pump.
MLS gaskets are about as good as you can get short of o-ringing the block. Expensive but worth it.

Talk with Mike Jones at Jones Cam Designs. You want a true custom cam? He grinds his own.. the quality is second to none. Provided the right information the cam will be best suited for your motor. He will need flow numbers on your cylinder heads.
I had a custom Comp Cams cam and it was off by quite a bit when degreed in. The LSA was wrong with the exhaust lobe 3 degrees retarded. I contacted Mike Jones and after installing his cam it degreed in perfect.
I'd recommend a larger capacity pan..

Thats a nice budget minded pan. I have had no issues while using a stock type windage tray. I also use a Wix 1q oil filter making system capacity 8q. No oil level provision..
With more capacity you could use a 10% HV pump without issue provided your engine bearing clearances need more volume. Stock clearances need standard volume, but you can use a high pressure spring if you want.
