Remanufacture Engine Help!!!!
I have few questions, and I hope ya'll can help!
1. How do you get the snot off the one behind the harmonic balancer?
2. How do you line it (harmonic balancer and the snot) back up when transferring to the new engine?
3. When separating the engine and tranny how do you line that up with the new engine?
Everything is stock and replacing with a stock Lt-1 with an A/T transmission.
Thanks for the info.

It's SNOUT or HUB is better, not SNOT.
Before you pull it, make a note of where it's mounted in reference to a position like having #1 at TDC. Make a mark on top for example.
With the bolt back in the crank but out a few turns, use a harmonic damper puller.

There's no secret to lining up the tranny, just have to get them both as straight at you can before starting the bolts. You use the engine lift to tilt the engine in a better direction while using a floor jack on the tranny with it loose from it's mounts.
A lot of people match them up on the floor before mounting them both as one piece back into the car.
