Remote Quit now horn beeps

My factory remote quit and now when I unlock my doors with my key the horn starts to beep within 30 to 45 seconds. When I put the key in the ignition and turn it, it stops. Is there a way to stop that (the horn)???

Also I get out and lock it when I shut the door the park lights blink.

If the alarm system is activated and you open the door with the key, you have about 20 seconds to turn on the ignition or else the alarm will sound. The only way around this is to deactivate the alarm and you need a remote for that.

You need to put a new battery in the remote. The lights are flashing to show you that the alarm system is armed.

There is something you can unplug, but I cant remember where it is because I need to disable mine. I need to find to out from the guy who is trying to help me troubleshoot my problem with antitheft.

Most false alarms are caused by the shock sensor. It is taped to the inside fender well right above the spare tire. There is a sensitivity adjustment right on it and you can also unplug it right there. Unplugging it just dissables the shock sensor, not the other alarm functions.

I have just been told that the relay for the anti theft could be bad. It can be unplugged to disarm the system. It is located on the passenger side airbag frame. You have to remove the dash to gain access, but I really hadnt had the time to do it.
