If you have things getting by your air filter, you got serious problems in the first place. Probably have dirty *** 8,000 mile oil and bald tires too.

It really does not matter either way.
I took mine out and its fine, it would be fine if I left it in.
When you start flowing major amounts of air then it will matter.
I don,t see why some of you get all butt hurt if we choose to take out our screens, its not like it takes forever to do.

Its just personal preference.

The only possible way I could see it would help removing it would be with large amounts of boost The area thru the MAF is big enough that with any given N/A appilication it flows enough air. But at 19psi it might make a little restriction

I think that the screen should stay in FWIW, even if it did give you 1hp.

How many threads is it gonna take for this argument to continue i mean at least once a week i hear bickering about it.
From what ive got from most of the threads is MAF is not really a restriction for alot higher horse.
Tuning issues with removed screen.
Some people it works great some people go through total hell.
hell i port and polished one myself also, then i grew up and put my other one back on with the screen in it.

It's just one out of the dead horse herd that people have to beat on continually. Some other horses in the dead herd - What exhaust is best? Which headers are best? Is it my opti? Which plug wires? Which plugs? Hotcam or 305? etc, etc..
