removing intake manifold to paint it
i want to start cleaning up my engine bay so i wanna paint my intake manifold black with polished fins. im not worried about painting it, im worried about removing it and re-installing it. how long will it take to get this thing out, im guessing about 2 hours or so because ive never tried it, and also any special tools ill need? and how does that fuel line come off that goes to fuel rails come off? i know the one side you just squeeze the clips but the other side is like connnected someway i dont know. any help is awesome, or a tutorial/write up is even better. thanks

and on this one, scroll down to removing the intake manifold

and for just this, you don't have to drain the coolant, just be carefull when you pull the hoses off the throttle boby(perfect time to do the bypass)

There are two fuel lines you have to disconnect, and they're different sizes. That's the only "special" tool you need, and a cheapo plastic set of 4-5 different sizes is like $8 at the auto parts store. You also need some deep sockets for a few of the bolts.
It sounds like you're not too familiar with all the hoses/sensors you're going to be pulling - so if you do it make sure you keep good track of everything you remove from the intake. Take as many high res pictures as you can and keep baggies of screws together so you know how it all goes back on. I'd recommend getting a piece of cardboard and poking holes to keep the bolt arrangement right for the bolts into the heads (the bolts are different lengths and stuff).
Other than that, you'll need some RTV sealant and some intake manifold gaskets when you bolt it back on. This is the only "risky" part because you want to make sure you get a good seal - intake leaks = bad.
You might also look into a polished bolt kit while you're at it if you're trying to dress it up. You'll be disgusted how much crap is down there under the fuel/egr lines.
Oh, and do the TB bypass and !EGR while you're at it. You'll be SO glad you did it then.
