Yes, but i just need to get the gasket out, not the whole seal. My motor is back from the shop and assembled, i just need to get the old gasket out so i can get the new one in and install the unit.

Re: Removing rear main seal gasket
Sorry, I might be a little confused but are you refering to the seal as this "gasket" and the seal houseing as the "whole seal", or am I missing something?
There are 2 parts here:
The seal,
And the seal housing.
the seal housing bolts to the block and has a couple of studs that go throught the oil pan.
pics here
Those 3 slots in the housing are there to place a screw driver, or something similar into and pry out the seal. It should come out that way!
Please correct me, if I am confused as to what you are asking!

Take a look at these pictures, especially the bottom one. Put a screwdriver in those locations and gently pry. What comes out is the rear main seal. I think I had the same confusion as you because, if I remember correctly, part of the stock rear main seal was exposed metal, and like you, figured only the rubber part should come out. Your replacement rear main seal probably looks like it's all rubber but there is a metal ring inside.

As 1slowformula stated, the only other gasket is the rear main housing gasket. Here's some pictures of that.

Re: Removing rear main seal gasket
Ok, I guess I see where that can get confusing. Its the seal that is stuck. I've had the housing off the motor for some time now and just never too the seal out of it, now that its time to get the motor back together, it need replaced. Ive even got the vice grips out and gripped the seal and tried prying it out, the way i noticed there was a metal band inside the seal. It bent the metal but still no luck. Maybe I'll fight with it some more tomorrow, in the mean time, any more advice is welcome.
