This seems interesting. Is there anyone on the board who has done this?

a few hundred less would make it comparable at least.

I havent had the fortune of dealing with the opti yet but from what I understand I will have to deal with it sooner or later. i would prefer to only replace it once!!!!

A little too pricey IMO. Considering that a new opti from Jason C is around $250ish you could buy 5 of them before your at the price of one of these units. So lets say your average opti lasts 90,000miles (I'm at 80k on my stocker), buying 5 of them would mean you put on 450,000 miles Does it still sound like a good deal to you?

It all depends on whats ruining you opti. My buddy went through 5 of them this track year alone because the motor revved fast enough to fling the rotor into pieces.

I bought the Delteq because I just didn't want to worry about the opti anymore. You can remove the rotor if you choose because it is no longer used. The optical portion will last much longer due to the lack of high voltage inside the opti and the resulting loss of ozone which was causing some of the opti problems. Got a used coil pack form salvage yard for $100. and bought the Delteq for mid $300. IMO that is cheap for peace of mind and lack of labor costs to replace opti if away from home.

rkussy,

How was the install on that kit? did you get the plug wires that come with it?
Where do you get the coil pack you mentioned and what part number is it?
Is that why you paid so much less for their kit because of the coil pack you purchased separately?

Thanks
Tom

GAY.... Im not a big fan of the LTCC just cause of the features on the box, but I would STILL buy the LTCC over that pile of crap.. $1000 Might as well invest in a F.A.S.T setup!

Tcal95z The coil pack is just a stock Northstar or Olds Aurora. If you call any salvage yard or try www.car-part.com and perform a search you can find them below $100. I spent a little more and went with a local junk yard so I could see the pack. Just make sure you get the module the coil pack sits on with the coils (same price with module ) I am make up my own plug wires as the install is on a non F body car and need longer runs. The install is a plug and play deal no more than an hour to install.

The stage II kit is $800 but I read somewhere on here that it's not available yet.
The stage I kit is about $600 according to their ad on this site

if u wanna completely eliminate the opti then i guess ull just have to wait for the stage II upgrade lol.....

im sure delteq int the only one that makes these thats just a site that i linked off of here....

most ppl have trouble finding places to mount the coil packs........MBA products makes fuel line covers that have have brackest on them to mount coil packs...

IMO it would be a very useful and probably smart invetment
