replacing valves and I have a ?
One of the valve stem tips in my le2's has a crack in it, so I ordered a replacement. Does anything special need to be done to the new valve, or do I just lap it and put it in?
Sorry if its a stupid question but I've never messed with a set of heads before.
Also, should I put a new seal on?
I'm probably going to end up taking everything to a professional, but I would rather do things myself if I can.

Replacing valves shouldn't be too big of a deal it's pretty straight forward. A tip though, do not pull the valve out if it feels like its totally stuck. Use a file to chamfer the end a little bit so it pulls through easy. You don't want to scratch up the valve guide and have to replace that too. If I were you I'd lap the valve in and take a look at the contact line the lapping compound makes. If it looks uniform and is a decent width you should be good.
Personally, if I'm going through all that effort to replace the valve I would replace the valve seals while I'm at it. It's really easy to do and its one of those "I wish I had done it while it was apart" deals if it wears out.
