I want titanium retainers, and 10º locks. Can you give me some info on good retainers and locks, part numbers, and where they can be bought.

Thanks!

p.s. Im going big, real big

Well to begin with, I pass on the K-Motions. Heard (once) that they weren't very good.

Summit:

Tit ret. KMO-K-7300

10 DEG LOCKS
Several ones to choose from depending on needed diameter, height, etc.

Summit has these as well in the K-Motion.

Call them 1-800-230-3030

I'd consider crane, comp cam, Manely, etc. JMHO

Mentioned it in another thread but check with Herbert Performance. I'd skip on the K-Motion springs.. as they did have some quality issues here a few years ago. Maybe not fair to oust them because the product prior to this little bobble was excellent and I ran them for quite a few years.
Anyways Comp or Isky would be my choice. You can get the Ti retainers from Herbert from $50-60 depending on your setup.

Thanks for the info guys.

First i have heard about anything negative with the k-motion. My engine builder seems to like them, and i have a set on my 383 Imp SS and are all good so far. Maybe they got their issues worked out.

Anyways, thanks for the part numbers.

i am also running the K-800 springs mainly since i can only accomdate 1.460 size springs and i needed the high pressure to go with my solid roller set up. i did not see any springs of this diameter with more spring pressure.

my installed height is 1.78 instead of the 1.85 to get me over the 500# pressure at open with .630 lift.

i chose the comp cams titanium retainer 730-16 and locks 613-16. i am assuming the comp cams titanium retainer should maintain standard installed height as they did not mention any difference from standard steel retainers. in some cases, the titanium retainers do have taller installed heights which may need to be addressed using shims under the springs.

i got mine on ebay for 100 shipped brand new in the box.

hope that helps.

thanks,

mike
