Replace them while you are in there. I swapped in a hotcam and had two lifters explode in the first 3 months. One I was lucky enough to find all of the parts. The last one exploded just before I tore the motor down and the only parts I found were the body and the cup. Eveything else never turned up.

Comp r's are on the way... the thing that worried me is that my cam is a 227/239 with .560/.577 lift. That amount of lift would worry me every time I spun it high with stock rockers.

the guy i buy my parts from has put in a lot of heads/cam cars......he said they had a guy who reused his stock lifters for budget reasons, and a few months down the road, put in comp R's and it made a very noticeable difference on the dyno.....i forget how much, but it just goes to show, every little component adds up, especially in the valvetrain.
