Rhoads lifters?

Rhoads lifters?
I just read a tech question in a magazine that talked about Rhoads lifters. It says they have a "leakdown" at low rpm but operate normally in upper rpms. This is supposed to reduce the lope at idle, creating more vaccum and improve milage. At higher rpms they operate better than a normal lifter. the only side-effect is that it makes a cam sound like a solid-lifter (Would love for my car to sound like that). Are they any good and do they make them for an LT1? I might use them when I do my "custom" CC306.

Re: Rhoads lifters?
Well im doing a search like people ask.... Has any one used these lifters on the LT1 or when doing a cam swap? I figured that there better then stock and couldn't be as bad as the comp R lifters. Summit has them for 99.95 for 16
In the catalog it says "They give less duration and lift at idle, for up to 25% more low-end torque and economy, and restore full action for top-end horsepower."

Re: Rhoads lifters?
on the rhoads lifters website I do believe that they are available for a roller chevy motor. a friend of mine has a 240/244 .530/.540 cam in a carbed 383 stroker motor and it sounds really mellow with these lifters. definately helps with vacuum

Re: Rhoads lifters?
I inquired about these after reading the article in Hot Rod a few monthes ago. This is the answer I got. "We do make Rhoads VMax Lifters for the LT1 engine. If your engine uses OE roller lifters, the part number would be RL-1158X. If you have flat tappets, the part number is RL-8178X. You can either order on our web site, or call us at 520-229-9375."
On their website its $239 for a set.http://www.rhoadslifters.com/sc/agor...Roller-Lifters
I am interested to know how well they work. I would like a little more low end torque out of the 306 cam I have installed.
