rockers, lifters, springs? help

i have a 94 z28 (90,000 miles) and recently my head gasket went bad, so i did the whole job and got my heads cleaned out and put new pushrods and rockers in. I drove the car for about 3 days and then it started ticking real bad and when i took off the valve cover the #7 cylinder rocker was off the pushrod. Right before the head gasket project this happened but it was on the # 3 cylinder. What could cause this? bad lifters? tahnks

What rockers/pushrods did you go with? Pushrod length? Are you using perma-loc adjusters? What did you set the lash to?

Perhaps you didn't adjust it right, or your locking nuts didn't work well because your studs didn't hold----sometimes stock studs are marginal when it comes to having sufficient threads to hold the locking screw. You might consider going to ARPs which are superior.

It can drive you nuts when a rocker comes off the stem. You just have to narrow it down to find the cause. JMHO
