Rotor/Pads install tomorrow

Tomorrow someone will be installing my rotors/pad. Question...the brake fluid is full, do you think I should go buy another bottle of dot 3 brake fluid? Also after installing the rotors/pads...will my abs inop light come on? I got the rotors and pads from Pep Boys...

The rotor and pad change on our cars is really easy. As far as buying a bottle of DOT 3... You probably should, just in case. If your brake resevoir is full, more than likely you will overflow it when you compress the piston on the calipers to be able to put the calipers with the new pads over the new rotors. So when you put everything back together and drive the car a little bit (make sure to drive in reverse and apply the brake a few times to adjust the parking brake setting) you could probably add some more brake fluid to fill the resevoir back up.

As for the ABS INOP light... It should not come on. As long as you don't bleed the brake system (which you shouldn't need to) the ABS system should not be affected.

It's getting done for free...A relative of mine is going to teach me. So it should be cool. I know when I had my Jetta...I had to do the pumping with the brake pedal and make sure there was no air I believe...so I don't need to do that either?

Bleeding the brakes isn't necessary when changing pads, but if you've got someone showing you how, I'd take advantage of the opportunity to do it while you're working on the car.

Well the brake install went pretty easily. It's pretty easy to do. Now I have a question...once it's installed..are you suppose to give the car a few hard stops after installing them..these new brake pads are still on the original rotors. Someone told me that if the rotors don't have any ridges on it and it's still smooth..you can still use them (but the rotors showed a lot of wear and tear even though it was smooth). Now my shakes pretty badly now..is it because of doing those hard stops? If so...should I just put the new rotors that I have not installed yet with the new brake pads that don't even have 500 miles yet on them.

If you had new rotors, you should have put them on with the new pads. Apparently your rotors are slightly warped. You want your new pads to wear-in to the smooth surface of the new rotors, so chang the rotors very soon. This way the new pads will not wear to the irregularities of the old rotors.
