I used some long bolts (unsure of the size) and some spacers from my exhaust manifold bolts, no beating and reshaping required, do you need it? I don't think you need it, I just put it back on because I didn't feel like throwing it away.

I just stuck enough washers in there for the exhaust not to touch.

I still have mine incase my driveshaft breaks... it's in my trunk

Won't come close to fitting over my y-pipe, so it had to go. I'm not too worried about my driveshaft breaking, as my car's still not drastically modded, but it could happen, and does happen. Eventually I'll get a DSL.
