Scanmaster DTC CODES: 16, 29 and 53....Shoebox?

Hey guys,
heres what i do know...i had the code 29 for a while with my whole A.I.R pump situation and it keeps blowing the fuse....so im not worried about that right now....

what i am worrying about it the new code that i pulled today...16 and 53...

I havent been driving the car much since maybe July/Aug cuz i bought a daily driver and ive been done at school...so when i come home, the car always needs the battery charged before it starts up...so tonight i go to charge it and it wont start up....u can tell as soon as i take the charger off, the inside lights get a lot dimmer and it wont start...so i havent been able to start the car...

So i look at my scanmaster and see the new codes 16 and 53..
which are: 16 - OptiSpark low resolution pulse not found and 53 - System voltage high

What are the issues with these? Anyone had any of these codes?
Anything that could be causing the car not to start or cuz i havent started/driven the car recently? What should and needs to be done?

ANY help would be awesome! Thanks guys!

All you need to do to eliminate DTC 29 is pull the harness connector off the AIR pump, then replace the fuse.

DTC 16 means the PCM could not find the low resolution pule pattern from the Opti for 2 crank revolutions. If the engine is running, it is a "stored" code, because if DTC 16 is active, the PCM shuts down the fuel pump and injectors. It isn't unusual to find DTC 16 stored. Sometime sets on a hard start. Clear the code and see how fast it returns. If if comes back frequently, might be the sign of a problem with the optical sensor, or with the harness connector.

Never saw a DTC 53 set. I think that would indicate a problem with the voltage regulator in the alternator.

What Fred said, plus the 53 might be as a result if you had your charger on there while trying to start the car. Some chargers have a "start assist" setting that pumps a lot of juice while you try to start the engine. I don't know if you might have been trying that. I would reset the PCM and see what returns.

My manual (93) indicates that it take a voltage in excess of 17.1V to set the code.

For some reason my enegine did not want to start with any extra voltage. try to run the voltage down to 12 and see what that does. dont know why. Im new to injection but when i did my swap i know my motor would crank like hell with the charger on it but would not start until i took it off and cranked it a few times.

I took my battery out and had it tested and it was junk. Car wouldnt even start up.
So when i get back home this weekend, i will put in the new battery and see if the codes go away....
