I agree and with the out dated display of the scanmaster (using LEDs isn't the latest technology) the amount of information shown has to be concise. For example, I saw 9 degrees of retard at 67 mph recorded. That is right around my shift point into 3rd with my A4. I also noticed an alarming low O2 voltage. This could be explained away if the soft touch rev limiter was dropping spark but I believe it was a true lean condition where fuel was not coming in. Any way, I would rather have both rpm and mph but if I can only have one, let it be the speed.

I'd rather have a complete data log of every sensor and parameter in the computer, and use that to sort out the problems (in fact, that's what I have built into my MoTeC). In reality, a ScanMaster AND a data logging software setup is ideal.

But the ScanMaster offers the advantage of a real time display, with bright, easy-to-read LED's (even it they are not the latest technology), that you can manipulate as you drive, without taking your eyes off the road. It would be nice if they had done an LCD screen that allows you to display several data sources simultaneously, like the stuff that's out there now for OBD-II setups.

If I had the $$$$$$$$$$$$.........

OR.......

Recognize the ScanMaster LT1 goes back at least 8 years, and before that it had been used on the Buick turbo's for a few years.... outdated, but still useful.
