Generally not a good idea to highjack someone else's thread.... but to answer your question, the $30 Actron code scanner simply shorts the ALDL connector, same as you could do with a free paperclip. The last year that worked on the LT1 was 1993. You need an OBD-I scanner, like the Auto Xray, Scanmaster, etc.
