Screwed

Where to start off,.. Had a friend install an MSD 6a onto my 97 Lt1 a4, Thats where the real trouble began. I already installed new plugs and msd wires. With the msd I upgraded the coil as well. Everything ran good for the first month than bam! blew up a couple spark plugs, after spraying some water on the wire I noticed a small arking on the wire. So i went ahead and orderd new wires, all of a sudden the car started misfiring, and stalling out on high rpms, it would also die out on me at any given time, it wouldn't start itself back up for atleast a day or so, Let the games began Digging deeper into it I noticed the waterpump leaking on the opti-spark, So I went ahead and replaced the waterpump and opti-spark. After that it didn't fix the problem. At this point everything was double checked air, fuel, I even changed the ICM. no dice.
So I finally went ahead and took it to the dealership, The dealer told me they had to replace the PCM, and knock sensor module. This point cool, they then tell me my sercurity light was on, after arguing with them I asked how much and they said another 440 to change out the BCM, key ign. So I went ahead and told them to fix it. After paying 920, I drove it onto the freeway and noticed not one thing was fixed, I called back to tell them and then the car gave up, died on the freeway, they told me to tow it back and assured me one of the parts they but in was defected. after that ordeal they call me up to tell me its my opti-spark. I refused work, I'm so bummed out. I asked for a refund, they said they could refund a portion, but never told me an amount.
What do u guys think?

Re: Screwed

seems odd that you changed the optispark, and it sill would not work, then you take it to them and the new one you put in no longer works.... I dunno.. never had the best experience with a dealership... I always mark any part i put in so i can identify it. if i take it in somewhere to have work done, and they said they replaced the part, i look for the mark. if it is still there I come unglued on the manager.

Re: Screwed

I took off the msd 6al and replaced another msd coil, and took hypertech programmar off as well before taking it to the dealer.
