My security light is on but not affecting anything. What would cause this?

Thanks in advance

Probably this:

So, it considers it a problem and not someone trying to steal the car.) When in fault enable mode, PASSKey protection is disabled until the problem is repaired. Once repaired, the SECURITY lamp will go out about 1 minute after the key is turned on. Fault enable mode will not shut down the engine while you are driving.

Re: Security light

I just read the whole section on your site and I have to say, I have no idea what I'm doing.

There have been a few times where the light would be on and I couldn't start it. I would leave the key in and after a few minutes the light went off. I hope it would be something easy. What would you suggest doing first? Do you think the "normal" bypass that everyone does would work?

Re: Security light

You are probably having an intermittent key reading. Try the resistor bypass.

Re: Security light

Wow! Don't know what the hell is going on. I shut the car off and pulled the key and it kept running!

What would cause that?
