Security system problem and question

I finally tracked down my power lose and non running car problem to a bad security relay and a bad neutral saftey switch. In the process of this I reallized how easy a push button setup would be. But here in lies the question. If I wire inline for the starter button, the key will still work. I want to set it up so the key is dead other then allowing the car to start. I dont want the key to roll the motor EVER. Just the button. What would I need to do to make that a reality?

I tried to figure out what year you have but neither of your links in your signature works. So let's assume you have a 94. What you want to do would be very easy. Just splice a switch into the yellow wire going to the theft deterrent relay. This would give you what you want. The engine will not turn over unless you have the key turned to start and the switch pushed in. Turning the key without pushing the button will not crank the engine. Conversly, pushing the button with out the key turned to start will not crank the engine either.

Simple but why?

How lucky, you happened to click the links when my server is down

Good guess, it is a 94.

The reasons are as follows. First to eliminate the security relay, I dont want it in use anymore. It screwed me once, that is enough for me.

Second is because without the security, I want some type of trick to keep her safe. I took the convertible switch panel and inserted a window switch into it. It looks factory and is going to control the starter. Unless you knew to push it, you would have no clue how to start it.

And lastly just because I think I can make it look good, and I already have it all torn down from trying to figure out what the problem was in the first place Just something different, and something trick if you will. I will be sure and post up some pictures when it is done. You can tell me what you think.

well then if you want to do away with the theft deterrent relay, just run the yellow wire going to pin C2 into your switch and the other side of you switch to the starter solenoid. You can do that by splicing into the purple wire from the relay at pin A2.

Good luck
