I need to add those in, correct?
Only if there is something wrong with your stock roller lifters.

Okay I called the machine shop because I'm as confused as ever! They supply a lot of items that come in the Jegs kit. They said l I need is a cam, rocker arms and springs. So if I do the kit I will be getting a bunch of extra parts.

Ah, the joys of upgrading!

ya but they would prolly just supply the wrong parts haha

also if what you stated above is correct, then go with the jegs hot cam kit.

comes with springs, rockers, and cam. the retainers that are included are made for those springs so you must use those in that case.

Ok we're going with the hot cam kit. Any recommendation for mid headers?

Re: In SERIOUS need of help with a 95 Z28.

Only mids I know of are pacesetters and MAC midlengths.

I personally owned a set of MAC's and they were horrible, they leaked and had a stupid design. I replaced the gaskets twice and then finally sold them.

googled it and appears SLP and AS&M make the midlengths aswell, but id bet they cost an arm and a leg.

looked up the pacesetters for ya, and they look like they got pretty good reviews one guy says "These are great if ground clearance is a problem or if you need to pass emissions." so that might be good for ya.

Macs do suck! like i said i had em.

also if you order that hot cam from jegs, might as well get the headers there too

70-1335 is the part number on their site they are 315$. And that is the lowest price i could find for you on the internet. plus their shipping fees your looking at like 325$-330$

on ebay you can get em for 315$ shipped.

Re: In SERIOUS need of help with a 95 Z28.

Ordered the 70-1335 Headers ($265.49 Free shipping)

Question with the roller rockers that come with the hot kit....how often/do the rocker arms need to be adjusted?

Is it possible to reuse my stock rocker arms?

Re: In SERIOUS need of help with a 95 Z28.

You should only need to adjust the rockers 1 time and forget them...To get the most out of your cam,I would go with the 1.6 rocker

Re: In SERIOUS need of help with a 95 Z28.

He keeps hearing from Joe blow here and there all this misinformation. Just verifying the truth from the smart ones here on the board. He was told he needed new intake gaskets every 3000 miles to adjust the roller rockers. ??...

He informed me his job has never needed him to dig in a motor. Just put in a motor. So he's completely confused.

Re: In SERIOUS need of help with a 95 Z28.

After the initial setup of the rockers and that's it. No gaskets need replacement after that. These dudes at the shop seem very stupid or else they want more business on the future kuz u will think u need services u don't need

Do we need upgraded push rods or are the stock fine with the gm performance kit?
