SES, code 26, HELP ME !
I did an engine swap a long time ago and it never bothered to hook up the SES light to check the codes. This winter I redid the wiring and I had many codes showing.
The only one I can't figure out how to fix is code 26
I hooked the brown wire from the Evap canister purge solenoid to the ignition power feed and the black wire is connected to the ecm
The car was running fine before I hooked those 2 wires, now it stalls and it does idle at all. if I remove the connector from the selonoid the car runs fine ...
What is causing code 26 ???

As what I understand it can only be the wiring or the solenoid itself right ???
Why would my car run like sh*t since I plugged it ??? can it be because the canister would be full of gas and because it would dump too much into the intake manifold ???? or is DTC26 related to solenoid and wiring only ??

Can someone help me with this ??
Today I replaced the solenoid, took the whole wiring harness apart to see is there was a short or broken wire going to the solenoid, the brown cable has 12v feed from ignition and the dkgrn is hooked to the ecm and it's not damage since I checked it with a volmeter ...
Does somebody knowns which ground source the ecm takes to ground the relay ???
Or anybody knowns why it's doing it ??? HELP ME . my car runs like crap.

I assume the code goes away when you connect the solenoid. The code is for an electrical fault only.
Do you have a fully functioning EVAP system? Perhaps what is happening is that the solenoid is operating and something in your EVAP vacuum hose routing is causing a vacuum leak.
Leave the solenoid connected electrically and plug the vacuum source for the solenoid and see what happens.

The code those not go away when the solenoid is plugged, it doesn't look like it's getting a ground from the ECM.
My EVAP seems to be fully fonctionnal
Do you mean plugging the line that goes to the canister or plugging the line on the solenoid ?
Do you have a service manual ???

I don't have a 1993 manual and I think that on a 1993, that the code 26 is a "quad driver" fault. It uses a series of drivers in the ECM to control several functions and perhaps pluggin in the EVAP is causing a problem. That in turn, could affect some other function used by the same quad driver (maybe causing your driveability problem-just a theory).
On the vacuum, I meant plug the source-like at the throttle body, so you could isolate any possilbe vacuum loss from the system.

code 26
well, believe it or not,a blown air pump fuse was causing my car to throw code 26,some boby tpld me that after i chased the evap system forever...lol.sounds weird as hell i know, just chech her out though,ya never know

CKT 428 is the drk grn/wht wire that goes from the pcm (D10) to the EVAP solenoid.
Don't know if it is identical with 1993 wiring.
