SES light, blowing fuse

SES light, blowing fuse
took my car to get the code read and here's what I got
P0100
The PCM has determined that a malfunction exists in the electrical circuit for the mass air flow or volume air flow sensor. This code points towards a possible wiring problem, IE : short to ground, short to power, or an open circuit.
checked the fuse under the hood and the eng sensor was blown. ok, here's the deal. Replaced the fuse and cleared out the code. Took it for a test drive and it was fine till the rpm went over 2000 rpm, there was a surge and SES light came on and the fuse had blown. Any ideas?

Possibly a faulty MAF sensor. With the engine running, tap on the top flat portion of the connector on the side of the MAF and see if it changes engine running behavior. If so, your MAF is bad. Check for obvious indications that your MAF took a dump too (i.e., missing sensor leads inside the MAF, broked/disconnected wires, etc.).

What did you ever figure out on this problem... I am having the same problem with mine right now. The check engine light came on and the eng sensor fuse is blown... the circuit also controls the reverse lockout on the 6 speed the way it seems as I have major problems as soon as the fuse blows. When I put a new fuse in, drops right in reverse.
Any help greatly appreciated.

wow...this was an old post but anyway. What happened was I did the resistor skipshift bypass and the wire just happen to work it self loose and was grounding out which was causing the fuse to blow. After I tape the resistor back up and make sure that there were plenty of electrical tape around the resistor, everything was fine. So I'm not sure if you had done the same thing to your car, but that's how I fixed mine.

Thanks for the info... that isn't my problem, but I am sure I must have a wire grounding out. I installed a new starter and this started blowing the fuse a day later. I tied the wires back from the headers and I didn't see any wires touching, but there has to be one touching somewhere.
Thanks again for the response.
