well i jsut tookit back out and put it back in to make sure the float isnt catching on n e thing, and it isnt!!

started the car up to check the gas guage and BAM still pegged at FULL!!!

i have some type of tool that i think can test for the OHMS!!

it has options like ( DCV 200m, 2, 20, 200, 1000 ) ( DM2ACV 200, 500 ) ( 200u, 2m, 20m, 200m )

all kinds of weird stuff and its by TELEDYNE LAARS!!

please help ASAP!!!

had my sending unit replaced with another one, and put it in the tank and it still doesnt work (gas guage that is)

I really have no idea what you just said. Please use full sentences, and some sort of punctuation.

 

my gas gauge is pegged over the full mark when i barely have less than half of tank of gas in....

I found out that it oculd be the sending unit, so i went ahead and got one from someone for free, and i checked it b4 i installed it..

I plugged it in outside the car and moved the float around and the gas needle moved!!

So then i said ok, great it works, went ahead and installed it and it goes back up to the PEGGED full !!!

thats the problem!!

 

should i maybe unplugged and reset the PCM? or what!!!

 

Now that makes sense. I would try moving the sender back and forth while the pump is out of the car and see if the gauge moves. I believe if the gauge pegs it means the gauge is grounded out.

if you've done that then why not leave the key on and install the pump so you can see exactly when the gauge pegs.

 

cause im scared to go BOOOOM if something grounds out!!
