Short Belt for AC Bypass?

Short Belt for AC Bypass?
Is it possible to bypass the AC on a LT1? One of my friends wants to by a short belt for his car but is uncertain as to whether or not its possible. I know on ls1s there is a belt specifically for the AC, but on LT1s, it's one belt for everything, correct? If it is possible, how would the belt be routed, and what length does it need to be?

NO you can not bypass the A/C pully - the best you can do is remove the AC condenser and buy an !a/c replacement pully - I'm sure if you search you can find the part number - you then use the same belt

Like said above you need the a/c delete pully, with it you not only get rid of the strain of the belt pulling the a/c but a good amount of weight off the front end. Just look around on the "for sale" section, took me maybe 2 1/2 weeks of keeping an eye out to find one brand new for $55 from z28draco (who was great to deal with if anyone is ever thinking of buying from him ).

Re: Short Belt for AC Bypass?
is there anything else involved in deleting the a/c? re-routing hoses? anything like that? i'd like to know...
and does anyone have detailed pics of their engine bays AFTER the a/c is deleted? i'd like to see how much room it actually saves....

Nothing to "reroute".... its all "delete".
I still have the evaporator and box on the firewall. Everything else is gone.

You will also save 26 lbs.
A/C compressor = 14lbs
Condenser/dryer/lines = 12lbs

links dont work for me injuneer.... says it times out ... strange
i'd just like to get an idea of how much space it saves in that cramped engine bay..... because IMO if it really does provide a huge space savings + weight savings then it may very well be worth it for me
