Sick of the floptispark switching to new ignition system

Re: Sick of the floptispark switching to new ignition system
Ok it's been a while but old threads just get better with age (or somethin like that).
I pretty much had given up on my car for a while but got some time to mess with it a little bit and finally got it fired up. I did use the 24x kit but after repinning my lt1 harness and hooking everything up I somehow overlooked the fact that my harness was shot, there were a couple burned slit and cut wires so I spent a few hours repinning a useless harness. Being frustrated and pissed I really didn't feel like repairing it so I called a buddy and he ended up using an ls1 truck harness and just swapped over a couple connectors from the original harness and extended a few connectors just to make sure they would reach but it actually worked. Just thought I would share that if anybody felt more comfortable going that route instead of buying the new harness or repinning the old lt1 harness.

Re: Sick of the floptispark switching to new ignition system
Glad you came back for the update!
Keep us updated as to how it's working. I'm seriously considering this just to move to the LS1 PCM for tuning reasons. I would love to use EFI Live to tune the VE tables on a load bearing dyno.
Does all the emissions still work(EGR, EVAP, Airpump, etc)?

@ace1252 all of my emissions stuff was taken out of the harness and tuned out but im sure if it was left in everything would have worked ill be sure to update progress after I get it tuned.
@aboatguy the very last time my car went down was because of the harness and it was 100% my fault I moved the harness to a bad spot temporarily and paid for it, but I had already purchased the 24x kit before that happened, I was just waiting for the next breakdown to install it.

Lymlyt96.. By any chance did you or your buddy write anything down on how u used the truck harness?
Was it from 5.3 or 4.8?
Was it just the engine harness or did you need some of the under dash harness too?
Thanks E

Re: Sick of the floptispark switching to new ignition system
He said it was a stock ls1 engine harness 5.3 everything was the same he's just not 100% on if he changed the firing order in the base tune unfortunately he didnt write anything down because it was pretty straight forward. One thing I noticed was there were a few connectors missing I think it was the skip shift, maf and map the wires were there but the connectors are different so you have to swap over the lt1 connectors.
