Sloppy steering

hey guys just wanted to know if i need a new rack and pinion or not. when crusing i can turn the wheel 3" right or left from center before the wheels will start turning. hard to keep car in straight line when on highway. wants to drift. would this be the worn out rag joint? i read this when searching

http://www.unbalancedengineering.com/Camaro/

"Rag Joint Eliminator (1993-1997)
Eliminates the factory rubber-fiber rag joint which can degrade and introduce steering slop. This is especially true on cars with the additional heat generated by headers. The kit includes a CNC machined coupler made from 6061-T6 aluminum which is then anodized black for corrosion resistance, and four grade 8 fasteners. A set of detailed installation instructions is also included. Cost $32 "

I had a very similar problem. I also had a lot of slop in my steering wheel. The Rag Joint Eliminator kit worked great. Easy to install and I would recomend it to anyone with headers. The problem stems from the headers cooking the rag joint causing it too become too soft.

How are the instructions that come with it? How long does the install take? Any special tools required?

I was looking at that as well. How hard would it be to drill the rivets out of the Rag joint?
