slower track times....need a tune-up?

What are all the things I can change or do for a good tune up? I just took my car to the track for the first time in few years and my times got a lot slower! 13.5 to 13.9 and I added a 2800 stall converter.

My 60' improved from 2.0x to 1.87 but I just ran a lot slower!

start with the basics:

plugs, wires, gas filter, air filter, pcv valve.

be forewarned though, changing plugs/wires on an LT1/LT4 is akin to a man giving birth, so allow plenty of time

good luck.

Was the track conditions the same? Did you go to the same track? Or a different track at a different elevation?

same track, conditions were probably better this time. The car runs a good 60' and 300' and even my 1/8 is almost where it should be, but top end is just not there!

I haven't tuned-up the car since the last time I had it to the track, 2.5 years. The plugs are over 3 years old and wires are stock.
