Small leak

I was changin the oil today and noticed a small leak where the transmission connects to the driveshaft. Is this a bad U-joint or do I have another problem? The little bit of tranny fluid that was on the ground was not much at all, when i got under the car in that area i saw some seeping in that area around that connection. Any input on what I can do to stop it before it gets to be bad??? Also, if i run my car at the track, am i risking messing up the trans and/or driveshaft? I would appreciate any help that can be offered...thanks.

That sounds like your tailshaft seal for the tranny. I am pretty sure you can change it by taking off the driveshaft and pulling it out with your finger. Then put a new one in the opposite way.

I doubt you're gonna pull it out with your fingers, its a little tighter of a fit than that, but its a simple job regardless. A small screw driver and a rubber mallot will do just fine.

Thanks guys...figured it would probably be an easy fix. Didnt think it would be that big of a deal, I have heard that this is pretty common on f-bodies.
