Solved my 2000-3000 rpm stumble!!!!

I FINALLY solved my 2000-3000rpm stumble in my 95 TA!!! I read most of the other hesitation/stumble threads and did some of the things that was recommended...like check plugs, wires, vac leak, change fuel filter, etc. None of these helped! Then someone mentioned a correlation between the K&N filter oil and dirty MAFS!! Well, I think that was the problem!! I took mine out and it was very dirty. One of the the resistors was 100% covered in oil. I sprayed it off good with choke/carb cleaner and got it nice and clean. I also took my TB off and cleaned it up. When I took the IAC sensor out, chuncks of carbon fell out. That thing was VERY dirty as well. So I also cleaned the IAC and IAT (with rubbing alcohol). After all of this I drove the car a couple of times just to make sure the stumble is gone. It has been almost two weeks now and NO stumble. I also ran some injector cleaner through just for good measure!
Before the cleaning, I could 'chirp' into second 'granny shifting'. Now it will smoke the tires half way through second 'granny shifting'!!!! It's a nice change!!!
So, to all of you with stumbling/hesitation problems.....
1) clean your MAF
2) clean your TB and IAC sensor
3) clean your IAT (doubt this was the prob.)

Good Luck!!!

Yea when I cleaned my MAF and TB, it cleaned the engine up really well..ran alot smoother, but didnt help my stumble...

But I couldnt clean my IAC due to the stupid star hex key nut thing...well it got stripped when I was trying to get it off it was on there soo tight. Any suggestions on how to get it off?

Yeah, my car runs smoother than I can remember now that I cleaned my MAF.

Feels like I did an engine swap.

pull the throttle body, gasket is like $3, four bolts holding it on. and while you've got it off, makes it really easy to do tb bypass mod if you haven't done that already.

You can take a dremel tool and slot the head of the bolt (after removing the throttlebody) and take a flathead to it.
