Like the guy at work the other day who thinks he wants to race me in his new BMW M5. Thinks his car must be faster, 'cause it's a BMW, has overhead camshafts and 4-valve heads. Thinks he will take me up top, 'cause his car is "designed for the Autobhan". His definition of a race to high speed was up to 120mph, BTW.

By-the-way: you never answered my question on the water injection in the advanced forum.... I've been waiting for it for like 2 days. The suspense is killing me....

FWIW I never found anything conclusive on the 93 AFPR issue other than alot of people who say it works "just because it does". No fuel corrections are made at WOT regardless of the model year. Another internet myth IMO...

That's another myth, which I have personally seen debunked on the dyno. FWIW, the "RamJet 502" I recently looked at appears to use a twin 48mm throttle body (like a stock LT1), though I didn't measure.

OTOH, a CAI does help. I don't know if a larger TB helps when combined with a CAI. I suspect it may, but not by much. It's not a mod I'd advise for a stockish car, that's for sure.

to trey on the brake thing...
TRUE...more rotor surface area, more friction, better braking...
waaaaiiiit..., no actually...
the first time, yes, better braking... once they get hot (im sure you know how quickly that happens...) gases begin to expand between the pad and the rotor, causing less friction and brake fade, along with the heat... drilled/slotted rotors evacuate those gases... and they DO brake better...
simple fact you couldn't sway me on.... drilled/slotted rotors = blank rotor OWNAGE

Rotors are much more complex than you think. And you pads do not emit gasses unless there is some INSANE (and by insane i mean nothing you could ever duplicate on the street) braking going on. Not in 2003 anyway.

The simple fact that you used "Ownage" in your making you point discourages me from taking your response seriously
Please take time to read the above links- long yes but worth your time.
If you have anymore quesitons, lets not Hi-Jack Rich's thread. Feel free to email me or instant message me. We can "AIM"

An optimal setup for a street or street/strip car using a relatively small (150hp or less) nitrous shot would be a relatively high compression setup.
Using more nitrous than that gets you into a gray area, as far as I am conerned. The amount of hp "added" by the N2O does not depend on the CR. Obviously, the "base" (non-nitrous) hp does, to a point. The problem is that higher CR increases the tendency toward detonation, a problem with nitrous, especially when a lot of nitrous is added. So I would say that if everything else is the same (fuel used, operating conditions, cam, etc.), if you are using more then ~150hp from nitrous, a lower CR is needed to avoid detonation.

maybe that explains why i was told by a guy (who runs 6.67 and a 500shot ) that my compression is too high for a huge shot

't was a zippy vehicle
holds the enlishtown (or it did at the least) for a 500ci motor on a single stage shot of nitrous.
no blower
no turbo

i see a lot of guys on here who think the LT4 intake is an upgrade for the LT1 which it is not...
the optispark is a POS but in reality it is just in the wrong location... pulled that one out
porting the MAF is one of those things everyone did before they realized it is a bad idea
thats all i can think of.
