Some TPS Trouble

My car has been spittering an spuddering and the code its throwing is a P0122 code. This says its a "Throttle/pedal position sensor/switch A circuit low input". I replaced the TPS about 3 months ago, and all was well. It seems that it is connected fine and all of the pins are straight. Any other ideas what it could be. I am thinking I might have to open up the wiring to make sure all of the wires are good, and not broken in any spots, but we all know that finding a wiring problem is a lot of trouble. Also, when the car was hooked up to the scanner tool, you could see that the throttle position was making no change when it was displyed on the screen, and the car is idling really high, around 1500 rpm. Any other ideas would be helpful. Thanks

That is the only throttle position sensor on the car. I believe that you can test the sensor on another car or maybe they do it at kragen or any other auto parts store.

What throttle body do you have? The TPS needs to see a certain voltage at startup. .1-.9 volts I believe. If this isnt met it will throw the PO122 code. Try hooking up a scanner to see its voltage at start up. Try to aim for .65 volts or so. Thats where the factory has it set and from most guys say they get the best results with it like this.

Thanks, I actually already tested it with my old TPS which was still working, but cracked, and it made no difference. So I guess I have to test the voltage in the wires.

I have the stock throttle bosy, but how would I adjust the voltage in the TPS? If it reads too high or too low of voltage, whats the next step? To search the wires for a possible break somewhere?

Test across the black and blue wires if you only have a voltmeter. A scanner will show you the same voltage. If you tilt or "swivel" the top of the TPS towards the front of the car the voltage will increase. Move it around in this fashion and you should se some movement there.

ok

you have to get it at wot above 4.2 volts get a drill and open the holes up.... get the volt meter and adjust leave the car on on and test, once you get it above 4.2 volts at wot you should be fine,
