I think the reason why people (myself at least) get defensive on posts like this, is because what happened to you wasn't really a bad experience IMHO with Thunder. You just have a backordered part, but because of this post, there are many people (hundreds) that just see the title and say, "Man, Thunder Racing isn't a good company so I won't buy from them". So you can see how a little post may make for a lot of loss of business over an issue (in this case) that they have no control over and would have went down the same way had it been ANY F-body performance parts company with a part on backorder.

it's almost second nature for a cust serv. rep to say "yes we will keep you updated" then get overwhelmed with new orders, book keeping etc. i dont know if i would call it empty promises, just good intentions with no time to follow through.

i have no allegences,i support LOCAL speedhops longbefore i do any internet/mailorder. if you dont support the local guys and build a good repetoir(sp?),you are gonna be SOL when you need something minor for a race coming up and the local guycloses shop due to no business. Most of the time, they will match summit/jegs (sometimes including the handing fee's,but they add to the cost no matter what) on damn near everything,or sometimes even be able to beat the mailorder joints, all you have to do is namedrop the mailorder bus. and the local guy usually comes around on price.

I've ordered from Thunder Racing about 5 times or so.. I've never had a problem with them... But like the other guys are saying.. Backorders happen, They usually arnt to bad though. I had a backorder on my pro 5.0 from tbyrne, had it in a week and a half... The stuff will come...
