SPEC Stage 3 Ceramic people inside!

Hey guys,

Just wondering where your clutches disengage. Is it close to the floor or closer to the top of the clutch pedal travel? My clutch disengaged toward the top before, and one day i come out, crank my car and all of the sudden its really close to the floor for some reason. I'm just wondering if this is symptomatic of a problem or what?

thanks!

Closer to the top of the clutch pedal travel, prob 3/4 the way up, and still extremely grabby.

5,000 miles on clutch.

ive never heard of it going that way. Normally a new clutch will catch closer to the floor, and as it wears, it will be higher out. another thing is if you machine your flywheel, when you put a new clutch in it will catch a little bit higher than a non machines flywheel.

From what I have read/heard these stage III's are normal to engage near the top. I have around 20,000 miles of ABUSE on mine and wore out 2 sets of brand new tires for the rear (no burnouts) and it still grabs like mad. It souns like your master or slave might be crapping out. The master is bolted on to your clutch pedal. There is 1 bolt from the pedal to the master, then 2 nuts holding the master to the firewall. Simple to replace.

I have the spec stage 3, and their billet flywheel. I also had the spec stage 2, both grab like 90%-95% uptop, there is no transition, well kinda, its realy an on/off clutch. I would LOVE if i could grab off the floor, it feels funny lifitng my pedal up 50% and not feeling anything. Hard to launch, I need more practice i guess. Shifting it is nice though, I only have to tip toe pressure it to shift
