speedyjr..........11.4s??

I picked this out of another thread:

Surely we don't mean cam only when we say cam only right?? It'd be nice if that's all I'd have to do to get my stock '96 Z28 M6 into the 11s.

I believe by "cam only" is a aftermarket cam and bolt-on's, gear's etc...i think the cam is the only internal part that is changed in the engine.

Re: speedyjr..........11.4s??

Sounds like LS1 envy to me....

Either way who cares? The LS1 is stronger for a whole bunch of reasons, only one of them is the valve angle.

Re: speedyjr..........11.4s??

Thankyou SStroker, but this thread is about getting my Lt1 into the 11s.

I seriously don't want 11s, I'll be happy with 12s.

I'm still looking around, getting ideas, so don't take me seriously, just yet.

Re: speedyjr..........11.4s??

don't forget that that ls1 is 2800 lbs with driver. That lt1 is 3300 lbs with driver. 4400ish stall in the ls1 to I think frank is running a 3200. Big GIANT cam in the ls1..little bitty cam in the lt1. Both are fast cars for cam only but really can't be compaired since one is a shell of a car and one still can be driven to work daily.

Re: speedyjr..........11.4s??

and by the way..its takes way more than just slapin the bolt ons and a cam in to get to where frank is. Lots of hard work/testing/tweeking in that car and all fast cars whether is is lt1 or ls1.

Re: speedyjr..........11.4s??

I wouldn't think so. I know what it took to get my car to where it is and they are 500 lbs lighter than me. Honestly I don't see how they get that light.

Re: speedyjr..........11.4s??

Yeah it took me quite a bit of creature comforts to get down to 3,500#'s but these cars sure like being lighter. I am looking at ditching the A/C box, leather seats and a bunch of other parts to get down to 3,300lbs by this winter the goal is 10's on motor and 9's on the gas with my little CC306 355" LT1 although a cam swap and dyno tune are in the futur I am sure.
