Question Spun main bearing, block no good?

Well, i managed to spin a main bearing in my LT1 last week. Lucky it did it at an idle basicly and i wasn't driving it on the road at the time so i'm hoping when i tear it down the block will be fine.

Who else has spun a mainbearing, and how'd it happen(where?), and did you just replace the bearings? new crank? or did it mess-up your block?

I spun a cam bearing and had to have oversized bearings put in. A friend spun a couple of rod bearings. Both times the block was fine. Really you need to just get it apart and see what damage is done to know for sure.

sounds like its coming from the bottom of the motor when its on lift. And its losing alot of oil pressure at idle, its never had bad oil pressure. It also knocks and rattles.

I agree to not being able to really know it its torn down. I'm going to be doing that in a couple days here, i was just wondering if anyone else has had same as me, and how many people have messed up the block with a bearing issue.

Chances are it is NOT a main but a rod.

Yeah, I agree the spun rod bearings act just like you are describing.
