squeezing all available N/A power

as the post says, I am trying to sqeeze all available power from my motor N/A before I think about adding a power adder. Basically I'm running a stock rotating assembly with new hypereutectic pistons and 30k miles on it, cc306, 1.6 crane golds, heavily ported OEM heads with 2.02/1.60s, and LTs. I just purchased some lucas 42lb injectors and a BBK 58mm so this should get me a little more top end power. I have unknown double valve springs on these heads but it was what was originally on the motor when I got it so it apparently is a good combination. Since the lift now is 544/576 I was wondering if I could put some scorpion 1.65 or 1.7 rockers on the intake to gain a little more flow. The 1.7s would put the intake at 578... just a hair over the current exaust lift... should there be any concerns of binding? give me your opinions

Re: squeezing all available N/A power

1.7's would push it above .600 on exhaust side and I believe that is where you need to start being worried about clearance between valve and pistonAnd as far as I know, the only way to get more power is start getting better flowing heads or bore and stroke or maybe a custom ground cam specifically made for your setup might do it. A really good dyno tune will help you a lot too.

I just want the 1.7s on the intake side.. that way I know the lift will be almost identical to the exhaust lift.. both intake and exhaust springs are usually rated to the same lift correct?

Re: squeezing all available N/A power

they should be rated the same as they come in a set. wouldn't it just be easier to get a different cam that is more to your liking?

Re: squeezing all available N/A power

Yeah they're rated to the same as long as you put the same springs on there, but my points is I believe LT1's use cams with more exhaust than intake for a reason like they require it, I could be wrong though.
