Stalled out while driving.. 5 times
car just hit 142,001 today as I rolled into my neighborhood. While Driving like 50 the car just stalled out couple times...I would put it back into neutral and start it back up and it cranked hard for few seconds felt like it idled rough and popped once,then i put it back in gear and it drove fine..no SES light or anthing the first 4 times..5th time was comming to a stop and the car just stalled again..this time the car took forver to start back up and the SES light went on and the car popped real loud.. i just drove home quickly and right as i came up to my neighborhood the car shut off again, so i didnt try to start it again..I went outside to start it 10 min later and it started fine, idled fine, and no SES light...I didnt try to drive it again, i may go back out and hook my FP guage up and drive it see what happens. I still wanna scan it to see what code was thrown..any ideas?
Fuel pump i believe is factory which makes me think is my problem I kno for a fact the car has over a 1/2 tank of gas, Opti/Coil changed 2)k ago, plugs and wires all have 1,000 miles on them

Ok tonight i had bad problems with the car, ran fine for the first 30min, then all the sudden at idle the tach jumped up and motor just stalled. Car sat for about 20min and started it back up and it was fine..Cruising at 60mph in 5th gear the car just shut off out of nowhere and it wouldnt start again... while on the the side of the road the car would barley stay running and it sounded like the motor was blown like a rod knock or something and the diptick blew out for some reason causeing some oil to burn like crazy on the header. Got the car to a lot and it sat for 40min while i went home to get the stock PCM thinking the one in the car was messed up..Car drove fine for about 10min then all the sudden car died instantly again...let it sit 5 min it started right back up and drove for another 5min where it stalled again..i repeated the process couple times.
Would a bad Knock Sensor cause this?
Or any other ideas...when the car runs it DOES NOT Misfire one bit, it runs great other than stalling out randomly

Does it make the knocking sound all the time (like if you rev the engine or while driving under load) or just when stalling?
Speedy- I did not look into them as of yet..prolly gonna do that today

Well then check the wiring harness from the PCM to the opti and if thats not it then maybe the opti went south? Take a look under your waterpump, is there coolant leaking out of the weephole? Is the intake leaking oil that somehow got to the opti?
