stalling problems, again
#17
As for the optispark, it was replaced fall of 05, so its a little over a year old now. I havent messed with the car with the key on so Im sure i wont have to worry about that. The place i got my car fixed last year is the best equiped shop in my area for diagnostics. Im going to give him a call tomorrow hopefully and see how much hes charging to just pull the codes.
Btw im in massachusetts, but thanks for the offer

alright so i got it scanned today
48 - Mass Air Flow System Failure (as expected, MAF 8 months old)
32 - EGR System Failure
29 - Secondary Air Injection
70 - A/C refrigerant pressure sensor
34 - MAP signal voltage low
and
11 - Malfunctioning indicator lamp (no check engine light)
So i have an idea for the MAF, i was thinking maybe it could be that crappy wiring job on the connector, going to have to get my hands on a multimeter soon
Any suggestions? or a lead on what i should be looking at first?

the simple things
i know u received a lot of technical advice, but has anyone thought about simple things like a tune up? oxygen sensors? (the MAIN problem with my 93 z)? the TPS, or the engine computer itself. from the early descriptions of your situation, it sounds like o2 sensors or ECM. optispark isn't a bad idea as well. if you have over 100k miles, change those O2's anyway. i believe they're 20 bucks each for most early LT1's. i had the same nasty stall with my 93 z and it turned out to be my ecm. when it happened again a few months ago, it was the O2 sensors. also check the knock sensor and crank position sensor. good luck!

i had a tune up done about 14 months ago. when this problem occured last year, one of the things i did to it to make it go away was replaced the bad 02 sensor on left bank. From what ive been reading in this haynes repair manual, it could be something as stupid as a lose connection or broken wire for the MAF. Also, for the Secondary Air Injection Pump Circuit, the book says it could be the relay. but still as for the EGR, not sure how to check that.
I have looked into the little things a bit, but either way i need to get rid of these codes.
